Teaching children to care about each other and the world around them. . .
WE'RE EXCITED TO PRESENT NEW GIVERTV!
We’re honored that nonprofit and community leaders joined Charity for Change in producing 22 new educational videos that teach elementary school-age children to care about each other and the world around them!
Thank you to our community for coming together for the good of our children’s mental and emotional well-being, academic performance, and resiliency.
Character Education & Service Learning
We exist to elevate young children to their highest potential by teaching the foundation of character and charitable habits through an academic curriculum. Our proven character education program builds resilience and self-efficacy in children. This sets them on a trajectory to thrive in school and later in life, ultimately creating a world filled with empathy and compassion — free of hate, violence, bullying and division.

160,000 children
Since 2008, our weekly curriculum has reached more than 160,000 children. This year, we served students from 448 Florida schools across 29 counties, and our reach now extends beyond Florida.
Character education, resiliency, service learning and academics are cornerstones of the Charity for Change Program.
This original song and video, “Live to Give,” bring these pillars to life!

100,000 children
Since 2008 — 80,000 children have participated in our daily social-emotional learning program. Many have participated for 7 years, from Pre-K through 5th grade!

WHY FOCUS ON CHARACTER EDUCATION AND CHARITY?
PLANTING THE SEEDS OF SYSTEMIC CHANGE

Building a foundation of character and a community-minded spirit develops resiliency and confidence in children, helping them overcome the challenges of negative influences. Young children thrive in an environment where character, empathy and compassion are emphasized, ultimately improving academic performance and building a community of kinder, more empathetic and engaged citizens.

HOW WE ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION
Our character education program teaches life skills that build resiliency and success in school, future careers and life:
• Understand and manage emotions
• Set and achieve positive goals
• Feel and show empathy
• Establish and maintain positive relationships
• Make responsible decisions
This character-based education gives children critical tools to navigate the mental health fallout of the pandemic and beyond.

100+
charity partners have received more than $150,000 raised by Charity for Change students!

When you support Charity for Change, you provide a legacy, giving children the critical tools they need to succeed in school, and later in life. The results are extraordinary!
- improved academic performance;
- improved behavior, reducing incidences of behavioral referrals;
- increased understanding and practice of character traits;
- developed empathy, compassion and self-efficacy;
- increased understanding of the role of charity in the community; and
- learned that they have the capacity to help others and be a contributing member of their community.

HOW OUR PROGRAM WORKS

The children begin each day with mindfulness activities. These activities help them understand how to apply the character traits in their everyday lives. They research and vote on a charity they want to support with their activities.
Then, students learn more about the character traits and the charity through the GiverTV videos. Next, students complete the curriculum together, which includes:
- Math word problems that align with current standards
- Hands-on projects for charities, encouraging them to work together for others in need
- Peer-to-peer exercises that develop compassion and empathy
- Physical, hands-on activities that teach students the character traits and how to accommodate each other’s differences
- Puzzles to develop a deeper understanding of the character trait
- Family exercises to connect family members with real-world experiences and inspire deeper-level conversations
The entire curriculum affirms the overarching theme of character, community involvement through charity and gratitude.
We have launched a new online platform, expanded the curriculum by 400%, and created GiverTV to overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath. Thank you to our community partners!
